Building a course is nerve-wracking and overwhelming. Who am I to create this?, you might wonder. Who’s going to listen to me? What if I don’t have enough experience? What if I suck at teaching? I’m awful on video! *throws hands up in the air* It’s worse when you’re alone. But you don’t have to take this journey solo. You don’t have to sit there trying a bunch of different tactics, wondering if they’ll work. Instead, you can work with someone who has been through multiple, successful course launches and avoid alll of those expensive, devastating pitfalls (hello!).
You’re likely here because you want to create a digital course, but something has you stuck. Maybe it’s tech overwhelm. Maybe it’s information and idea overload. Or maybe it’s fear of failure, or feeling like you’re an imposter who has no right to teach what you know.
You know your course topic and you have a rough idea of how you want to structure your course. But you need help overcoming fears, doubts, and unease as you embark on this project. After two hours together, you’ll leave feeling confident in your plan with a strategy that’s within your ability to execute.
Great if you’re in the early stages, feel relatively confident in your ability to create a course, and only need a one-off call to get started.
You know your course topic but you have no idea what comes next. You just know you need to get your knowledge out there so you can reclaim more of your time and scale your business. You need a little more hand-holding than one strategy session can provide. You know you work best when you have external accountability, so weekly meetings will keep you on track.
If step-by-step guidance through the entire course creation process sounds amazing, this is the option for you.
You have a thriving business and want to branch out to online courses. You know your content inside and out, but you want to focus on writing and shooting the course and leave the rest to someone else. Except…hiring a web developer, copywriter, launch manager, social media manager is out of the budget.
Let’s chat. I have extensive experience helping clients create and launch their courses from scratch, at a fraction of what an entire team costs you. We’ll work together to bring your vision for a course alive, and you’ll have my support on critical production and business decisions along the way. (Trust me, there are a lot.)
You feel lost as to what went wrong in your course. You put in so much hard work, but you’re not impacting as many lives as you wanted to. Students aren’t engaging. Completion rates are low. Refund requests are high. Let’s change that.
I’ll review your entire course — the content, email marketing, funnels, onboarding, community, etc. — and create a comprehensive plan of action to up-level your course. I’ll identify areas of improvement, where you excel, tweaks to make, and what to double-down on. You and your team will receive a checklist of action items ordered from biggest needle-movers to smallest.
The nitty-gritty details of working together, so you have clear expectations before hopping on a call.
The 120-minute strategy session is best for those who have a clear course idea and need personalized 1:1 help to implement their idea. It’s also great if you’ve created a course and need help with marketing or improving your course. You’ll get the most out of a strategy session if you have a specific challenge + specific outcome you want to work toward.
If creating a course is a “maybe someday” thing, or you have no idea what topic to cover, a strategy session isn’t for you. Strategy calls work best for people ready to take immediate action. Additionally, if you only want to create a course because you heard it’s a quick source of income, we’re not a good fit. I love working with purpose-driven, heart-centered entrepreneurs the most.
Want to select the monthly strategy sessions, but worried about the ongoing commitment? When you sign up for the monthly package, it’s not ongoing. You’ll have the option to either stop or continue after four weekly calls.
As for how long you might want to work with me, it depends on the scope of your course, where you are within your course creation journey when we start, and how much help you need. Some people get into a groove after a month, while others want to know the option for help is there until they’ve enrolled their students.
This is something we’ll discuss during our initial 60-minute conversation. Some people want to race their course to the finish line while others prefer slow-and-steady progress. Most clients are concerned with results versus hours spent. For the sake of an estimate, I’m happy to devote at least 20 hours per month to your course. Please know that something like video editing (beyond basic cuts) tends to be time consuming, so it helps to have a realistic view of what those 20 hours might get you.
Payment is due upfront, before a strategy session begins. I never confirm a strategy session if I’m unsure if I can help you. That’s why my process includes a contact form – your answers will tell me whether we’re a good fit. That’s also why I offer free 30-minute Zoom chats. I want you to feel comfortable working with me beforehand. You can also email me with any questions and I’ll respond within 48 hours (during the week).
We’ll also sign a contract that goes into further detail before hopping on a strategy call, so all expectations are clear from the beginning of our work together.
You’ve created and launched a course or two, but something is missing. Your enrollment numbers are lower than you hoped, and students aren’t jumping to offer testimonials. I’ll review your course content, marketing funnels, and student feedback to provide you with a step-by-step action plan to improve your course. If, instead, you’re unsure of how to take your course to the next level, we’ll dig in deep during our strategy session so you leave with a crystal clear plan for next steps.
The nitty-gritty details of working together, so you have clear expectations before hopping on a call or asking for a course review.
The 120-minute strategy session is great for those who need specific help with either their course content, or their marketing strategy. Typically, marketing is what trips a lot of course creators up (if that’s you, you’re not alone), as it’s easy to become fixated on getting the course done at the expense of all the other components. But I’m happy to provide feedback on course structure and the UI/UX of your course as well.
If you’re looking for someone to do the actual marketing for you, a strategy session isn’t the right fit. I only advise on marketing and course content in strategy sessions. If you need someone to implement your ideas, you can look at my “done-for-you” course package.
The more “basic” strategy session for beginners is less expensive because it takes more time and effort to put together a marketing strategy than it does to review and refine a course plan. I do a lot of prep work in advance of our call to ensure I have a solid understanding of your business and/or course before we meet. This helps us dive right in and make the most of our two hours together.
Primarily, the length of course and how many marketing materials you have. For example, if you haven’t launched yet and you want an extra pair of eyes on it before you go live, that’ll take much less time than reviewing a course that has years of content, bonuses, over 1,000 students, a robust onboarding sequence, five marketing funnels, etc. I spend several hours and sometimes several days completing these reviews. I treat your course as if it were my own.
There are so many moving parts to an online course, and it’s difficult to see new opportunities and room for improvement when you’re so close to it. (I know from experience.) I have experience creating courses from scratch, and I also have loads of experience iterating on courses launch-after-launch. I’ll look through your videos, resources, transcripts, bonuses, Office Hours, forums, onboarding emails, customer support — I examine every angle of your course.
